Drag the Process icon (magnet) anywhere on the screen to observe how the units (information bits) are attracted to it, i.e. gathered. Notices how the Process icon covers a lot of ground in order to capture everything. This method is costly, inefficient and confusing, especially when the same information can be captured by more than one process or network.

When you wish to reset the units drag them to the CORE.

Click on the CORE to reset the location of the information. The resulting dispersal illustrates to the viewer how communication or energy needs at different locations and/or levels within organizations are affected.

The scatter plot of these units represents the sometimes imperfect business network and the difficulty of gathering useful information, making connections or implementing change. The processes involved are tedious, ineffective and costly because of poor design, lack of resources or poor communication.

Furthermore, complications from the inability to collect information can result in a broken flow – represented in the demonstration by a random unit. Concerns including rework, limited resources, the contextual quality of the information, and its accuracy become problematic.

Using such a network for business operations is tedious, time consuming, highly repetitive, and costly.
